On Thursday, November 18th, the Ontario Food Collaborative hosted its 2021 virtual AGM & Symposium, bringing together speakers and attendees from across the food system to share and learn about important work being done to advance food literacy. Ontario’s Food and Organic Waste Policy Statement

In this session, Atif Durrani and Cindy Acab of the MECP provided an overview and discussed the Province’s Food and Organic Waste Policy Statement.
Community Perspectives on Food Sustainability
1 PM – 2:45 PM
In this session, speakers presented and discussed examples of food system community actions, from schools to marginalized communities to food circularity.
Food Sustainability Dialogues
3 PM – 4 PM
This session gave participants the opportunity to engage with others and think out of the box to problem-solve. Participants were divided into breakout groups led by a moderator on the topics of food literacy in schools, food access, and food waste.
