On November 19, 2025, we hosted our 5th Annual Symposium and Organizational Update “Rooted in Community: Cultivating Wellbeing from Waste”.
Attendees heard from a group of expert speakers who shared their knowledge on bridging gaps in food systems, importance of community health, and waste diversion for collective strength.

Eric Novak opened the symposium with a keynote on how storytelling inspires environmental and social action. Drawing on his work in media and sustainability.

This session explored how food choices and waste reduction strategies can support both human and planetary wellbeing. It highlighted approaches that build sustainable food systems and reduce waste.
